Making Water Temperature Visible
A thermostatic valve controls the temperature. It does not tell anyone what the temperature is.
The problem
Children, elderly residents and anyone with reduced sensation cannot reliably judge water temperature by hand — and by the time they can, they are already under it.
How it is done

Put the reading in the water. The LED handheld runs green below 32°C, blue from 33 to 41°C, red from 42 to 45°C, and flashes red at 46°C and above. The colour is visible from the bathroom door.

Use the rainfall head where the whole spray should carry the signal rather than a single jet — its green band runs below 28°C.

Extend it to the basin. The LED faucet light switches from blue to red as the water passes 40 degrees, plus or minus 2, and doubles as a nightlight in a child's bathroom.

None of these need a battery. All three are driven by the water itself — a generator in the shower heads, a pressure switch in the faucet light — so there is no device that quietly stops working.
These products indicate temperature. They are not thermostatic controls and do not limit water temperature. Where scalding is a regulated risk, they should be fitted alongside, not instead of, proper temperature control.
