Shower Hoses

The hose is the part of a shower that gets replaced first, so it is worth buying by material rather than by price. This range runs PVC at 13.5mm outside diameter, stainless steel in single-buckle, double-buckle, spring and extensible builds, and copper in double-buckle, globose and extensible forms at 14 and 15mm. Standard lengths are 1200mm and 1500mm, and on the PVC hoses the length can be made to your requirement.

Three materials, three price points

PVC for volume retail, stainless steel for the visible chrome finish a hotel expects, copper for the heavier section and the longer life.

Buckle type decides the feel

Single-buckle hoses lie flatter and cost less. Double-buckle hoses hold their coil and resist the kink that eventually splits a hose at the collar.

Extensible where the run is short

The stainless and copper extensible hoses stretch and return, which is what a small enclosure or a bath-shower mixer needs instead of a longer fixed hose.

Can we order a non-standard length?

Yes on the PVC hoses — both are stated as made to your requirement. For the metal hoses, send the length you need and we will confirm before you order.

What is the difference between spring and extensible?

The spring hose holds a coiled shape and returns to it. The extensible hose is built to lengthen under pull and draw back, for enclosures where a fixed 1500mm run would trail on the floor.

Which material lasts longest in hard water?

Copper and stainless steel outlast PVC at the fittings. Neither prevents limescale inside the hose, which is a function of the water, not the hose.
