A product on a shelf has about three seconds to explain itself. These ones do it without a demonstration.

Water-saving hardware is a difficult retail category because the benefit is invisible. A shopper cannot see 6 litres per minute. The lines in this range that sell themselves are the ones where the function is visible on the pack or in the product.

LED showers are the clearest case: the spray changes colour with the water temperature, and the handheld version is supplied with the colour scale printed on the packaging so the shelf does the explaining.
