Product Overview
Custom FKM rubber products, processed to the customer's requirement. FKM resists a wide range of chemicals, oils and fuels, from aggressive acids to industrial lubricants, and retains its structural integrity at elevated temperatures where other compounds degrade. Moulds are designed and manufactured in our own workshop, so a part with no existing tooling can still be produced.
Key Benefits
- Resists aggressive acids, industrial lubricants, oils and fuels
- Holds structural integrity at elevated temperatures
- Long service life resists wear and environmental degradation
- Custom processing rather than a fixed product range
- In house mould workshop so bespoke parts can be tooled
Problems It Solves
- Rubber parts degrading in oils, fuels and aggressive chemicals
- Components softening or hardening at elevated temperature
- Short service life driving repeated replacement
- No tooling available for a non standard part
Where It Is Used
Applications And Buyers
Application Scenarios
- Seals and moulded parts in automotive fuel and engine systems
- Chemical plant components exposed to aggressive media
- High temperature industrial equipment
- Custom moulded parts where standard compounds fail
Who It Is For
- Automotive component manufacturers
- Chemical and process plant operators
- Equipment builders working at elevated temperatures
- Buyers whose current parts degrade in service

How It Is Made And Checked
Materials Process And Quality Control
Materials
- FKM fluoroelastomer
Manufacturing Process
- Mould design
- Compression moulding
- Post curing
- Inspection
Quality Control
- Specification agreed in writing before production starts
- First article or sample approved against the agreed specification
- Goods inspected and photographed at the factory before loading
- Inspection report sent to you before the container sails
Customisation Options
What Can Be Varied
- Part geometry to your drawing
- FKM grade selected for the chemistry and temperature
- Hardness for the application
- Mould designed and made for the part
- Post cure where required
Compared With The Alternatives
| NBR rubber products | Nitrile is far cheaper and adequate in oils and fuels at moderate temperature; FKM takes over where the chemistry is aggressive or the temperature is high. |
|---|---|
| FFKM products | FFKM resists even more aggressive chemistry at several times the price. FKM is the right choice wherever its range covers the application. |
Use Guide
- List the chemicals and the peak temperature with the enquiry
- Specify FKM only where nitrile genuinely will not survive, since it costs more
- Confirm whether a post cure is required
- Agree the mould design before tooling is cut
Questions
Questions Buyers Ask About This Product
What does FKM resist?
A wide range of chemicals, oils and fuels, from aggressive acids to industrial lubricants, and elevated temperatures.
Can you make a custom part in FKM?
Yes. FKM rubber products are processed to customer requirement, and we have our own mould workshop to make the tooling.
How does it compare with nitrile?
FKM handles more aggressive chemistry and higher temperatures; nitrile is much cheaper and adequate for ordinary oil duty.
Do you design the mould?
Yes, moulds are designed and manufactured in our own workshop.
What do you need to quote?
The part drawing, the chemicals and temperatures involved, the hardness if known, and the quantity.
