A slat is a structural part sold as a commodity. The two decisions that matter are the material grade and the geometry, and both of them have to come from the frame, not from what a supplier happens to stock.

Decide laminated against sawn

A knot is where a sawn slat breaks.

Both ranges here are laminated, which spreads the bending load along the slat instead of concentrating it.

Take the geometry from the frame drawing

Slats that do not seat properly jam the assembly line.

Width to 170mm, thickness to 25mm and length to 1750mm, cut to your drawing with end profiling for your holders.

Decide flat or cambered

Camber is suspension, not decoration.

Cambered slats are formed by bending and installed crown upwards; flat slats suit fixed platform bases.

Check whether chain of custody is required

This is a commercial requirement, not a technical one.

The birch range is FSC certified where the retailer asks for documentation.
