Blue-housing YT-1000R. The rotary positioner earns its place on large-bore valves: it raises actuator output thrust on DN>100 valves and removes signal transmission lag when the controller sits more than 60 m from the actuator.

Technical background

Type YT-1000R Electro-pneumatic valve positioner is used for operation of pneumatic rotary valve actuators by means of electrical controller or control system with an analog output signal of DC 4 to 20 mA or split Ranges.

YT1000R Electro Pneumatic Valve Positioner- Principle of YT1000R electro pneumatic positioner (1) Rotary valve positioner/YT1000 rotary valve positioner is used for regulating valve with large diameter (Dg>100mm) to increase the output thrust of the actuator.

(2) When the distance between the regulator and the actuator is more than 60m, the YT1000 rotary valve positioner can overcome the transmission lag of the control signal and improve the response speed of the valve. (3) Electro pneumatic positioner is used to improve the flow characteristics of the regulating valve.

(4) When one regulator controls two actuators to implement split-range control, two valve positioners can be used to accept low input signals and high input signals respectively, and then one actuator will act in low range and the other in high range, which constitutes a split range.

Questions buyers ask

Our controller is 80 m from the valve. Does that matter?

It does — beyond about 60 m the control signal transmission lags. The rotary positioner is the documented fix, improving valve response speed.

Does it help on a large butterfly valve?

Yes. Above Dg 100 mm the positioner is used to increase the output thrust of the actuator.
