Chemical and Process Plants
Viscous, corrosive and solids-bearing media are where an unassisted actuator loses the valve position it was told to hold.
Difficult media
When the medium is viscous or carries solid suspended matter, the positioner overcomes the resistance the medium puts on stem movement.
Corrosive service
The actuator is offered with hard-anodised cylinder body, nickel-plated or stainless pinion, and Viton or silicone seals in place of standard NBR.
Toxic and flammable media
Explosion-proof positioner and switch-box builds cover the electrical side; tight packing on the mechanical side is handled by the positioner itself.
Characterised control
Changing the feedback cam changes secondary-loop gain and compensates a non-linear valve characteristic.
