Application
Heat Transfer Printing
Heat transfer printing is the process of applying heat-applied materials to various items such as textiles with a heat press. Heat-applied materials carry a heat sensitive adhesive on one side, and when heat is applied by the press the material adheres to the substrate.
What Is Heat Transfer Printing
Heat transfer printing applies heat-applied materials to an item with a heat press. The material carries a heat sensitive adhesive on one side, and when the press applies heat the material adheres to the substrate. The end result is a decorated garment.
Decorating with a heat press is an easy and cost effective way to enter the garment decoration industry, and it makes it possible to personalise a wide variety of items on demand.

Application Process
Three key components matter when decorating with a heat press: time, temperature and pressure. Every heat transfer material has its own heat printing instructions.
Time - the number of seconds heat must be applied to the design and garment.
Temperature - the optimal degree at which the design will adhere to the garment.
Pressure - the amount of downward force needed when heat applying.

Material Range For This Application
Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU)
United TPU adhesive powder is high end, combining extreme elasticity with a soft touch, leading to a transfer that will outlast the garment. TPU also has a wide heated temperature range in process.
Thermoplastic Polyester (PES)
United PES adhesives are in big demand for applications needing high bonding strength and water wash resistance. PES is recommended where elasticity is not so much required.
Thermoplastic Polyamide (PA)
United PA adhesives are designed for the highest bonding strength requirement. With an easy process and a wide application range, PA embodies an outstanding economy principle of cost.

Which adhesive powder should we use for stretch garments?
TPU powder. United TPU adhesive powder combines extreme elasticity with a soft touch, which is what a transfer on a stretch garment needs, and it has a wide heated temperature range in process.
What if wash resistance matters more than elasticity?
PES is recommended. United PES adhesives are in demand where high bonding strength and water wash resistance are needed and elasticity is not so much required.
What particle sizes are available for transfer powder?
0-80, 80-180, 100-300 and 200-500 micron for the UT series, and 0-80, 80-170 and 180-420 micron for polyamide powder, or another cut to your requirement.
Do you supply paste as well as powder?
Yes. As the process requires, we also supply paste adhesive - United acrylic and polyurethane liquid resin provide the base for paste making in this application.
