What This Product Is
SGZ Photoengraving Copper Plate is supplied mirror-surfaced and at high purity for fine line photoengraving. It etches in standard ferric chloride solution and is used for banner, wall-calendar, printing, stamping, embossing and coining work where the detail is finer than zinc or magnesium will hold.

Problems it solves
What Goes Wrong Without It
- Fine detail collapses on a rough plate face. This plate is mirror-surfaced so resist sits flat.
- Impurity in the copper leaves pitting in the etched floor. SGZ supplies high purity stock.
- A special etchant adds cost and handling risk. This plate etches well in ordinary FeCl3.
- Limited stock gauges force redesign. Four thicknesses are held: 1.0, 1.4, 1.5 and 2.0 mm.

Interleaved, cartoned and crated for export.

Coated Zinc Plate for Engraving and Etching
Zinc is the volume material for banner and calendar plate and can arrive pre-coated. Copper is specified when the line detail is finer than zinc will hold.

Brass is unpolished and cut for mechanical engraving. Copper is mirror polished and cut for chemical etching.
Use Guide
