Photoengraving Magnesium Plate Questions
Why choose magnesium over zinc?
Magnesium is lighter and etches faster than zinc, which shortens bath time and makes large plates easier to handle.
What sizes are stocked?
500 x 1000 mm, 610 x 457 mm and 610 x 914 mm. Other sizes are made to request.
How thick can the coated magnesium plate be?
From 1.0 mm to 10 mm.
Which additive do I need?
A magnesium grade: X-Flex (Fuji Hunt, model E004) or Rev-Flex (MEL, model E003). Zinc additives are not interchangeable.
Can I see it etched before I order?
Yes. SGZ opened a magnesium plate etching demonstration workshop in December 2016 and publishes a complete etching video.
How large can this plate be supplied?
Up to 2000 mm long and 1500 mm wide.
