After recovery comes the unglamorous half of the outage: pull the air out, then put the right gas back.

GNR’s related product line lists gas refilling and evacuating devices next to the recovery system. The sequence is fixed:

  • Recover SF6 from the live compartment.
  • Open only after residual pressure meets the owner’s rule.
  • When the electrical work is done, evacuate air and moisture.
  • Refill with recovered or make-up SF6 to the nameplate density or pressure.

A refill-only regulator is not a substitute for this device when the compartment has been open to atmosphere. Evacuation is what keeps the next moisture reading from becoming a second outage.

Hose fittings, vacuum ultimate and fill pressure are specified per package. They are not guessed on this page.
