Selecting a laboratory AC source
Start with the waveform the product will see in the field. The HPA page gives four hard edges: 0–300 VAC (520 VAC per phase), 40–499.9 Hz, galvanic isolation, and a 300% overload claim.
If the product is a 400 Hz avionics box, the frequency range still covers it — confirm the current at 400 Hz before treating the frame as dual-use.
Load type is listed as resistive, capacitive, inductive and non-linear. Ask for the derating that applies to crest factor on the specific kVA you intend to buy; that derating is not printed on the live page.
