What This Mat Is and Who It Is For
Our Tatami Mats reproduce the look and the surface behaviour of traditional Japanese tatami flooring in EVA foam. They are supplied at 100x100 cm and 80 kg/m3 with Shore A 38-45 hardness, the firmer specification a throwing surface needs.
A tatami floor has to do two opposite things: absorb a fall, and stay firm enough to move and pivot on. The density is what balances those, which is why this line is heavier than our general gym tiles.

Materials
Closed-cell EVA foam. Non-toxic and environmentally friendly EVA and LDPE materials, with every batch tested.

Compounding
EVA resin and additives are weighed and mixed to the density the order calls for - 70-75 kg/m3 for standard lines, 80 kg/m3 for tatami and rubber-blend tiles.
Foaming
The compound is foamed into blocks on our own foaming lines. This is the step that fixes density, hardness and how the mat will behave under load.
Lamination
Printed film or suede surfaces are laminated onto the foam base for the wood-grain, plush and printed puzzle lines.
Die-cutting
Blocks are cut to tile size and the interlocking puzzle teeth are die-cut. Cut accuracy is what decides whether the seams close cleanly on site.
Quality control
Incoming material checks, in-process inspection and final sampling before every shipment.
Packing and shipping
Shrink-wrapped inner packing with a carton outer, loaded close to Shanghai and Qingdao seaports.

Laying and Maintaining the Floor
Plan the mat area in whole 100x100 cm units to keep cuts to the perimeter.
Lay the tiles tight and check the seams before the first class.
Disinfect after contact sessions and let the surface dry.
Lift and store the tiles flat if the hall is shared with other sports.
Inspect the seams monthly and replace any tile whose teeth have been damaged.
