Corten Steel Cube Sculpture in Chester Virginia
A 175 by 50 by 50 cm corten steel cube for an outdoor garden, left to weather into its own protective oxide layer.
Project Record
Corten is specified when the client wants the piece to change colour over its first years rather than stay as delivered. The published record gives the size as 175 by 50 by 50 cm and the material as corten steel. A cube is unforgiving in a way a curved form is not, because every edge is a straight line the eye can check against the horizon.
