Temperature coefficient

A module's rated power is measured at 25 degrees Celsius. Real rooftops run far hotter. TOPCon cells hold a lower temperature coefficient than PERC, so a larger share of the nameplate survives a summer afternoon - which is when commercial sites are consuming most.

Degradation

TOPCon shows lower first-year and lower annual degradation than PERC. On a 25-year financial model this compounds, and it is one of the first assumptions technical due diligence examines.

Watts per square metre

Where roof area rather than budget caps the system size, higher module power converts directly into more installed kW on the same structure. It also reduces the number of mounting points and connectors, which is a balance-of-system saving, not just a module one.

Bifacial construction

Bifacial modules add rear-side generation where the mounting surface reflects - light-coloured roofs, gravel or concrete ground. On a dark roof with low clearance the gain is small, so the decision belongs with the mounting design.
