Head figures are the values listed for the products in each group. For the hex flange range the first figure is the flange diameter and the second is the hexagon across the flats.

Drive Sizes

Four Torx sizes cover the internally driven ranges, and the hex flange range uses an 8 mm external hexagon. This is the tool list to have on the bench before the fasteners arrive.

Method

Picking A Size In Four Steps

Fix The Thread

The tapped hole or the clearance hole decides this. The stock range covers M4 M5 M6 M8 and M10, and the M10 sizes are cut with a 1.25 mm fine pitch.

Fix The Length

Length is measured under the head. Add the grip thickness to the thread engagement you need and pick the next size up the ladder.

Pick The Head

A cap head for counterbores, a saucer head where the head must stay low and the bearing face wide, a hex flange head where a socket or spanner is the only tool that fits.

Check The Drive

Confirm the Torx or hexagon size against the tools on the line before ordering, because that is the detail that stops an assembly.

How is fastener length measured on this site

Length is the dimension under the head, in millimetres, as given in each product name.

What pitch are the threads

The M10 sizes are cut with a 1.25 mm fine pitch and this is stated in the product name. For the other sizes the pitch is not stated in the original product data, so send us the pitch you need with your enquiry and we will confirm it before you order.

Which Torx size does each thread take

The drive is listed for every size. Across the range T20 T25 T30 T40 and T45 are used, and the table above maps each one to the threads it appears on.

Can I get a size that is not in the table

Yes. The table covers the stock range. Other diameters lengths and head styles are made to order from bar.

Do you supply the drive tools

No. We supply the fasteners. The drive sizes are listed so the correct Torx keys and sockets can be on hand when the parts arrive.
