Product Overview

Reaction Bonded Sintered Silicon Carbide

Reaction bonded sintered silicon carbide is made from fine particles of silicon carbide and additive compressed into billet, at 1500 °C to 1800 °C high temperature vacuum contact with liquid silicone, free silicon filling the pores, and high density of ceramic material is obtained. It can be used in medium acid or mild alkaline medium. It can be at medium concentration of acid or used in mild alkaline medium, it is widely used in bearing and oil, chemical, automobile and ship, pump valve and other fields.

Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide (RB SiC) is a very economical material which gives excellent wear characteristics, as well as good chemical resistance.

FAQ

Reaction Bonded Sintered Silicon Carbide FAQ

How Is Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide Made
It is made from fine particles of silicon carbide and additive compressed into billet, at 1500 °C to 1800 °C high temperature vacuum contact with liquid silicone, with free silicon filling the pores, so a high density ceramic material is obtained.
What Medium Can RBSiC Be Used In
It can be used in medium acid or mild alkaline medium, and at medium concentration of acid.
How Does RBSiC Compare With SSiC
RBSiC is a very economical material which gives excellent wear characteristics as well as good chemical resistance. SSiC has no free silicon, which makes it most resistant to chemically-aggressive fluids and ideal for high temperature applications.
What Is The Free Silicon Content
The free-Si content of RBSiC is <8-12%, against <0.1% for SSiC.
What Is The Maximum Service Temperature In Air
1000 °C for RBSiC, against 1600 °C for SSiC.
