Decide on evidence

Full-page readers image the whole data page at 400 DPI under visible, infrared and UV light. Half-page readers extract the MRZ. Only the first produces evidence.

Cover the card formats you actually see

Contact smart cards to ISO/IEC 7816 Parts 1-4, contactless to ISO14443, and ISO1801 driver licences are separate capabilities, not assumptions.

Decide attended or unattended

Kiosks need self-sensing capture and no operator button. Desks can use a placed-and-triggered workflow.

Build against the SDK

The full-page readers expose illumination source selection, image type, compression, photo extraction and LED control through a high-level API.
