What this model is for

This configuration of the PF1602 is aimed at recording, not just parsing: it saves almost the full passport page picture alongside the OCR result, so the record keeps an image of what was presented. Placement triggers capture by self-sensing, with no button for the operator to press.

It reads ICAO 9303 passports, visas and ID cards, PDF417 driver licences, and the mainstream 1D and 2D families including Data Matrix and Aztec, at 1280 x 1080 (1.3 megapixels). Power consumption is low enough to leave it running, and it can be embedded into a kiosk or used by hand on a desktop.
