Hands-Free Picking

Hands-free picking is a motion problem before it is a technology problem. Every handheld scan costs two movements that add nothing: putting the scanner down to handle the goods, and picking it back up. Wearables remove both.

Choose the wear point

A finger ring is lightest and cheapest per operator. A glove-mounted unit adds a screen so confirmation happens where the operator is already looking. A wrist-worn Android terminal runs the whole task list on the hand.

Decide where the workflow lives

If the WMS client can run on the device, a wearable Android terminal removes the companion phone entirely. If it cannot, a ring or glove scanner pairs to the phone or terminal you already deploy.

Plan the battery

Removable packs allow a swap between shifts. Fixed packs mean a device out of service for a charge cycle.

Integrate with the free SDK

The glove and wearable Android units ship with a free SDK, so the scan stream drives your client directly instead of arriving as keyboard input.
