It is an area imager reading 1D, 2D and QR codes including PDF417, Data Matrix, EAN13, EAN8, UPC, Code128 and Code39, quoted at 12 hours of continuous work at one scan per second, and built to survive the environment: IP42 sealing and 1.5m drop resistance.
