A cold-chain logistics and warehousing client providing seafood refrigeration and freezing services commissioned a 20,000-ton cold storage project. On-site installation is complete and the plant is in commissioning.

Why PIR on a seafood store
PIR panels are chosen where the insulation core has to meet fire performance requirements as well as thermal ones. On a large single-room store, the fire strategy for the envelope is usually decided before the panel type.
What commissioning covers
Commissioning is where the plant is proved against the design: pressure testing and charging, compressor staging and defrost sequencing, alarm verification, and a controlled pull-down to the design temperature under observation. On a store of this size the pull-down alone is a multi-day exercise.
Howcool commissions its own installations and trains the operating team during handover.
