1500 Square Metre Agricultural Products Centre Freezer Launched

A 1,500 m2 cold storage facility with a 240 m2 loading area has been launched to serve a regional agricultural products distribution market. Construction took 30 days.

Five zones, variable temperature

The facility uses a five-zone variable-temperature design. A wholesale agricultural market handles products with incompatible storage requirements at the same time — leafy produce, root crops, fruit at different ripening stages — and a single set point would compromise most of them.

Why the loading area matters

At 240 m2, the loading area is a substantial share of the footprint. In a distribution market the product moves constantly, so the staging space between vehicle and chamber does more work than the storage volume suggests.

Thirty-day programme

A 30-day build is achievable on a project of this size when the panel envelope, refrigeration plant, doors and controls all come from one manufacturer and arrive in the installation sequence. Most delays on projects of this scale are supply coordination, not construction.
