Product Overview
Bias Cotton Airway/Airflow Polish Buffs are traditional high end buffing wheels with an irregular airflow structure. They are used for polishing and pre-bright finishing of stainless steel, chrome, and iron products including pots and pans, tableware, tubes, and pipes. These buffs are recommended for the final mirror polish step. The wheels are made from bias-cut cotton fabric, with options for untreated white cotton or resin-treated cotton in yellow, blue, green, or orange. They are assembled with iron clinch rings or iron plate inner hole adaptors, and are available in multiple standard sizes with 16 plies. Custom dimensions are possible upon request.
Key Benefits
- Irregular airflow structure provides consistent polishing and pre-bright finish on metal surfaces
- Suitable for final mirror polish step on stainless steel, chrome, and iron items
- Available in multiple standard sizes with 16 plies for consistent performance
- Options for untreated or resin-treated cotton in multiple colors for visual and functional differentiation
- Can be made with iron clinch rings or iron plate inner hole adaptors for different mounting needs
- Custom sizes available upon request to match specific production or application needs
Application Scenarios
- A metal finishing shop needing high end buffs for mirror polishing stainless steel tableware
- A cookware manufacturer requiring consistent pre-bright finishing on pots and pans
- A workshop producing tubes and pipes that needs reliable final polishing with minimal variation
- A distributor adding a premium buffing wheel line with traditional airflow structure
- A factory replacing hand-assembled buffs with a consistent, repeatable consumable
Who It Is For
- Buffing and polishing wheel manufacturers
- Metal finishing shops specializing in stainless steel and chrome
- Cookware, tableware, and sanitary ware producers
- Jewellery and small metal component polishers
- Distributors serving markets where imported high end buffs are costly or slow to arrive
Problems It Solves
- Hand-assembled airway buffs have inconsistent ply spacing and airflow, leading to uneven finish quality
- Manual assembly limits output and increases labor cost per wheel
- Imported high end buffs carry high freight and long lead times for every reorder
- Lack of standardization in buff structure leads to variation between batches and shifts
- Difficulty in matching wheel structure to specific polishing steps without custom tooling
Technical Features
- Made from bias-cut cotton fabric for even folding and airflow structure
- Available in untreated white cotton or resin-treated cotton in yellow, blue, green, or orange
- Iron clinch rings with 1.5 mm thickness and square teeth or 1.2 mm thickness with triangle teeth
- Optional iron plate inner hole adaptor with or without a paper board inner hole adaptor

Manufacturing And Process
Step 1
Cut cotton fabric on the bias using a CRA-500 bias cutting and rolling machine or equivalent
Step 2
Prepare iron clinch rings or iron plate adaptors based on the target wheel size
Step 3
Load the bias-cut fabric roll into the forming machine (CRA-800 or CRA-300)
Step 4
Set the machine for the target outer diameter and ply count
Step 5
Form the wheel body by folding and clamping the fabric around the centre
Step 6
Trim the formed body to size and remove from the machine
Step 7
Transfer the formed body to pressing on a CRA-600 machine
Step 8
Trim the edge on a CRA-700 machine to create the running face
Quality Control
- All wheels are formed with consistent ply spacing using the machine's indexing system
- Sample wheels tested before shipment to confirm structure and airflow
- Free sample testing available on buyer's own fabric or cotton before purchase
- Installation and operation training provided to ensure correct setup and first run
Customization Options
- Custom dimensions available upon request beyond the standard sizes
- Clamp sets and tooling adjusted for specific iron clinch ring or plate sizes
- Cotton color and treatment matched to buyer's production or branding needs
- Machine line configuration can include CRA-500, CRA-800, CRA-600, CRA-700 for full automation
Compared With The Alternatives
| CRA-800 Bias Airway Buffs Forming Machine | The CRA-800 is the forming machine used to build these buffs; this product is the consumable output of that machine |
|---|---|
| CRA-360 Airflow Corrugated Buffs Making Machine | The CRA-360 produces corrugated buffs with a different structure, not the irregular airflow of these bias cotton airway buffs |
| Manual airway buff assembly | Hand assembly leads to inconsistent ply spacing and airflow; this product ensures repeatable structure and performance |
Use Guide
- Use only bias-cut cotton fabric; straight-cut fabric will not form correctly
- Select the correct iron clinch ring or plate based on the target inner diameter
- Keep the ply count at 16 for consistent performance across all standard sizes
- Use resin-treated cotton for higher durability and color retention in high volume use
- Send samples to CRATOOLS for testing before full production to confirm compatibility
