Sheet metal parts without a progressive die
Sheet metal fabrication is the route for thin stock that must be cut, bent, or welded into a housing, bracket, or shield. AS Precision lists typical thickness from 0.006 to 0.25 in, generally under 6 mm.
Process on the source page: laser / turret / shear → bend / draw / punch → rivet / tap → weld → powder, plate, wire-draw, or silkscreen. No hard tooling is required to start a prototype or a short run.
Sheet jobs often sit next to a CNC part on the same assembly. One RFQ can cover both so fit-up is owned by one shop.
Questions buyers actually send
Do you tool a progressive die?
The published process is fabrication (laser, punch, bend, weld), not automotive-style progressive stamping. Ask if volume later needs a die.
Which stainless grades?
SUS304 and SUS301 are the grades named on the sheet-metal page.
