Why a 0.001 mm print still needs a usable radius
AS Precision publishes 0.001 mm as the highest precision and says turned surfaces generally finish better than milled ones. It also says special tools are pulled when a drawing asks for knurling, micron-rigid cutting, or high polish.
What that means on a buyer drawing: a sharp internal corner that a tool nose cannot enter will be quoted as a mill operation or a change to a radius. Send the drawing as-is; the engineer’s reply is the place the radius gets named. Do not invent a default radius in the RFQ.
Inspection follows the quality page: calibrated instruments on a schedule, automated equipment in addition to manual, machinists trained on print reading. The first-time rate published is 99.8%.
Send a drawing if the note maps to a live part.
