Seamless is the largest part of this catalogue, with twenty styles, and it behaves differently from cut and sew at every stage. The body comes off the machine as a shaped tube. The support zones, the ribbing and the mesh are knitted in. The minimum is higher because the machine is set up per programme. Here is the sequence and what each stage decides.

Programme design
Shaping sewn in after the fact never behaves like shaping knitted in.
Support zones, rib placement and mesh are designed into the knitting programme before the first sample.
Yarn selection
A seamless body cannot be rescued later by a better fabric, because the fabric and the garment are made at the same moment.
Yarn is chosen with the sourcing team; the styles here run from 92% nylon with 8% spandex through nylon, polyester and spandex blends, and one style in 92% recycled nylon.
Machine setup
Setup is what the higher minimum pays for.
The machine is set up per programme, which is why seamless styles start at 300 pieces per colour rather than 200.
Knitting
Compression that varies piece to piece is a setup problem, not a fabric problem.
The same programme runs on every piece, so compression repeats across the run.
Linking and finishing
The few seams a seamless garment does have are the ones that get noticed.
Linking, elastic and hem finishing are done at the same site as the knitting.
Dyeing
A set that does not match was usually dyed in two lots.
Tops and bottoms intended to sell as a set are dyed together, which is the only way to guarantee the match.
