Stone Slab Sizes and Thickness Explained
What a standard slab size means
Slab dimensions follow the block, not a catalogue. A common production size in our range is 3200x1600x18mm, while onyx and some marble bodies come in other sizes because the blocks are smaller.
Why 18mm and 20mm matter to a fabricator
Thickness decides how a top is edged, whether it needs a build-up strip and how much weight the cabinets carry. Confirm finished thickness after polishing, not before.
Yield is a size question
The right slab size for a kitchen is the one that produces your pieces with least waste. Sending a cutting list before the order lets the supplier choose slab sizes against it.
What to confirm before you order
Confirm production size, finished thickness, finish and how many slabs come from the same batch. Those four answers prevent most disputes on arrival.
