Why Driver Brand Matters in Decorative Lighting

The Driver Fails Before the Diodes Do

In a decorative fixture the LED board usually outlives the electronics in front of it. When a fixture dies early it is nearly always the driver. That makes the driver the component worth naming in a specification.

An Unnamed Driver Can Change Between Orders

If a specification only says LED driver, nothing stops the component changing between your first container and your second. Naming the brand in the specification is what makes a substitution a conversation rather than a surprise.

Which Driver Is on Which Model

Eaglerise drivers are used across the SX2344, SX2313, SD2343, SD2169, SD2237, SD2126-CL, SD2126 and ST2308 models. YSD drivers are used on the SD2342, SX2342 and SD2341 rings. The SL2312 floor lights use Waiberlon drivers with Cree COB sources, and the SB2167 wall light uses a Done brand driver with a CREE LED.

Ask for It in Writing

Whoever you buy from, ask for the driver brand and the LED type on the specification sheet rather than in an email. If a supplier will not put it in writing, that is the answer to the question.
