The Specification
Our household aluminium foil roll is produced in alloy 8011 in soft temper. The foil is silver, with one bright side and one matte side. It is non-toxic, odourless and impermeable, and it withstands both high heat and extreme cold.

What Gauge Changes
Gauge is the single variable that most affects perceived quality. At the thin end of the 9 to 30 micron range the roll is an economy household product. At the thick end it behaves as a heavy duty catering foil that holds a fold and survives a barbecue. Two offers quoted only by weight can be very different products, which is why we publish gauge, width and length separately.
Bright Side And Matte Side
The difference between the two faces comes from the rolling process, where two layers pass through the mill together. The side in contact with the roller is bright and the side in contact with the other sheet is matte. Both faces behave the same in use.
Core Cutter And Pack
- Core weight can be light or heavy, colour brown or white, diameter to your specification or our recommendation.
- Cutter options are steel cutter, plastic saw blade or paper saw blade.
- Packing options are a colour box with or without blade, a printed PP bag, or a shrink pack.
- Colour box design follows your artwork.
