Why Brackets Move So Fast

In almost every front or rear impact, the bumper cover flexes and the brackets behind it snap — they are designed to. A repair that reuses cracked brackets leaves the new bumper loose at the wheel-arch line, so professional shops replace brackets on every bumper job. Result: brackets outsell bumper covers several times over.

They are also the cheapest part on the invoice, which is exactly why availability matters more than price: a missing two-dollar bracket holds up a two-hundred-dollar repair, and the bay stays occupied either way.

Reading Bracket Numbers

Brackets are handed and positioned: FR or RR, upper, lower or side, long or short. HD numbers the pair 71190 (LH) and 71140 (RH) upper front; TY uses 52535 / 52536 for front side and 52575 / 52576 for rear; NS uses 62222 / 62223 front and 85220 / 85221 rear.

This catalog lists each hand as its own line with its own photo, so LH/RH mix-ups are caught at ordering rather than at the counter.
