The Last Decides The Fit
The last is the form a shoe is built around. It sets the fit, the shape of the toe and how the finished pair looks on the foot. Two markets that buy the same style often need different lasts, which is why fit is discussed at development and not after the first container lands.
Size Runs By Destination
Europe, the Americas and the Middle East use different size systems and different distributions within a run. Tell the factory the size range and the quantity split per size at order stage, because the split affects both cutting and packing.
Fit Testing On The Sample
Use the sample stage to test fit, not the bulk order. Try the approved pair on the foot type you actually sell to, and report back before the run starts. Adjustments made at this point cost nothing compared with a reworked shipment.
Keeping Fit Consistent Across Repeats
Once a last is approved, repeat orders should reference the same last and the same approved pair. Recording it in the specification keeps the fit stable across seasons.
