The Heat Moisture Exchanger Filter combines a breathing filter with moisture return, so inspired gas stays humidified without active heating. Adult types deliver 31 mg H2O at 500 ml tidal volume with 45 ml dead space and cover 150 to 1500 ml tidal volumes, while the paediatric type has 20 ml dead space for 150 to 300 ml. Filtration runs BFE 99.9 to 99.999 percent and VFE 99 to 99.99 percent, with a 22M/15F-22F/15M connection.
