South Africa runs two plug systems side by side. The older SANS 164-1 plug uses three large round pins and is still fitted throughout existing installations, while the newer SANS 164-2 plug is smaller and is now required on new socket outlets. Products shipped into the market usually need one or the other stated at the order stage.
Cord length, cable gauge and type, jacket colour and the connector at the appliance end are set per order. Complete OEM services are available.

How It Is Made
The plug is moulded directly onto the cable on our own tooling, so there is no screw joint and no field wiring. The company runs first class producing equipment and advanced mould processing equipment, and quality control is applied at each stage rather than only at the end.
We mould both patterns and terminate them with an IEC 60320 connector or with prepared leads, so the same appliance can be served with either cord.

Which South African plug should I order?
It depends on the sockets your end user has. Existing installations widely use the large round pin SANS 164-1 pattern, while new outlets take the compact SANS 164-2 plug.
Can you fit a C13 connector?

What cable do you use?
Flexible PVC cable equivalent to H05VV-F is standard. Rubber cable is available where the cord is handled or dragged.
