A cord set fails in the field at the joint, at the strain relief or at the insulation. Our inspection is built around those three places.
From Material to Carton
- 1. Incoming materialBrass pins, resin, cable and connectors are checked against the specification before they reach the moulding line. For plug inserts this includes the brass grade and the resin content stated on the part.
- 2. MouldingPlug bodies are moulded directly onto the cable so there is no screw joint. Surfaces are checked for air holes, shrink holes, burrs and cracks.
- 3. Electrical testContinuity and polarity are verified, and dielectric withstand is applied at the voltage the specification calls for. Our Swiss plug insert, for example, must not be punctured at 2700 V held for five seconds.
- 4. Flame behaviourMaterials used in the plug body are specified to self-extinguish, with the flame going out on its own within thirty seconds on the Swiss insert specification.
- 5. Final inspection and packingLength, marking, connector fit and appearance are checked before the cords are packed to the agreed format.
