The CEE 7/7 hybrid plug fits both the German Schuko socket and the French socket with its earth pin, which is why it is the safest single specification for an appliance shipped across the whole of continental Europe. The flat CEE 7/16 Europlug covers Class II appliances up to 2.5 A where no earth connection is required.

How It Is Made
The plug is moulded directly onto the cable on our own tooling, so there is no screw joint and no field wiring. The company runs first class producing equipment and advanced mould processing equipment, and quality control is applied at each stage rather than only at the end.
We mould these cord sets with H03VVH2-F, H05VV-F and H05RN-F cable and finish them with a European appliance coupler or with stripped and tinned leads for in-plant assembly. Cord sets in this group are produced to VDE approval and are RoHS compliant.

Questions About European Power Cords
Which European plug should I choose?
CEE 7/7 is the usual answer for an earthed appliance because it works in both German and French sockets. Use the CEE 7/16 Europlug only for Class II appliances that do not need an earth connection.
Which cable types do you mould?
H03VVH2-F, H05VV-F and H05RN-F are the common European cable types for this group. Tell us the current rating and we will confirm the gauge with you.
Is the cord VDE approved?
Our European cord sets are produced to VDE approval. Ask us for the certificate reference covering the exact construction you order.
Can you fit an IEC connector on the other end?
Yes. C13, C5, C7 and C15 connectors are all available, and we can also supply the cord with stripped and tinned leads.
