What Anti-Fog Film Does
BOPP anti-fog film is a functional film that prevents water vapour from forming fog on the film surface and reducing transparency. Ordinary BOPP holds moisture released by fresh produce as an opaque mist on the inner layer so buyers cannot see the goods and contact with water mist causes rapid spoilage and shortens shelf life.
Where It Is Used
The film is specified for display packaging of vegetables, fruit, flowers, sushi and chilled meat and other fresh products that release a large amount of water. These packs see large temperature changes during storage and sale, which is why ordinary bags mist over. Anti-fog film keeps display clear and extends shelf life, so supermarkets use it in volume.

Besides the anti-fog effect the film offers high heat sealing strength, high thermal strength, high smoothness, high opening, high puncture resistance and high transparency, and it is safe, hygienic, non-toxic and harmless. High smoothness and opening support bag opening and filling, while seal strength and puncture resistance protect fresh packs during handling.
How the Anti-Fog Effect Is Tested
The target is no droplets on the film surface after 24 hours in a 0 to 4 degrees Celsius cold room, and no droplets after 24 hours of repeated alternation between 60 degrees Celsius and 0 degrees Celsius. The amount of anti-fog additive added controls how strong the effect is and the temperature range and time over which it holds.

Anti-fog performance depends on the anti-fog masterbatch formula, the proportion added during BOPP production, and process control conditions in the film line. Development screened more than 60 domestic and foreign food-grade additives by spectral analysis and retained three with better anti-fog effect and safety.
