BOPE Film
BOPE film stretched by flat film method runs on BOPP lines with 2-5 times puncture strength and 100Mpa tensile both ways.
What BOPE Film Is
BOPE film is a polyethylene resin with special molecular structure processed by flat film method biaxial stretching technology. After stretching and forming each performance is greatly improved compared with traditional PE film. Traditional PE film is formed by extrusion blowing or extrusion casting while BOPE uses orientation to raise mechanical performance.

How BOPE Film Is Formed
BOPE film is formed by the flat film method like BOPP stretching. After extrusion molding the slab is preheated a second time and then stretched to film in a semi-solid state. Blow molding and casting are melt processing in an unsteady state while this method is a steady state structure. The result is a high degree of orientation in the film.

Why Thickness Uniformity and Optics Matter
Because the forming process is a steady state structure the degree of orientation is high and the uniformity of the thickness is relatively good. After BOPE is cast and then stretched the casting process is a rapid cooling process and the crystal structure is relatively fine. A fine crystal structure is what gives the film good optical performance.
What Strength Improvement to Expect
Due to high orientation with molecular weight orientation and crystal orientation the film gives excellent impact resistance and puncture resistance. Puncture strength is increased by 2-5 times and deformation after impact is particularly small. Tensile strength is 2-8 times higher than existing blown film and both directions can reach 100Mpa or more.

What to Confirm Before You Order
Existing polyethylene raw material does not have the desired molecular structure and cannot be biaxially stretched. The BOPE special material is based on raw material molecular structure design with both high draw ratio and draw rate. It can be produced on the existing BOPP double-pull production line which makes large-scale industrial production and application possible.

Questions About This Film
What material is BOPE film made from?
BOPE film is made of polyethylene resin with special molecular structure processed by flat film method biaxial stretching technology.
Can BOPE be produced on an existing BOPP line?
Yes. The special material can be produced on the existing BOPP double-pull production line which satisfies the requirements for stretching and film forming.
How does BOPE forming differ from blown PE film?
Blow molding and casting are melt processing in an unsteady state. BOPE is preheated a second time after extrusion and stretched in a semi-solid state as a steady state structure.
What strength gain does BOPE give over blown film?
Puncture strength is increased by 2-5 times with particularly small deformation after impact. Tensile strength is 2-8 times higher and both directions can reach 100Mpa or more.
Why does BOPE have good optical performance?
After BOPE is cast and then stretched the casting process is a rapid cooling process and the crystal structure is relatively fine, so optical performance is good.
