Babywear Construction Points Buyers Should Specify
The construction decisions in infant garments that buyers most often leave to the factory by accident.
Infant garments are judged by parents in the first thirty seconds of a change. Specify the opening and the seam plan yourself rather than inheriting whatever the sample room used last.
The points that matter
- Opening type: zip, snap placket or shoulder envelope
- Seam placement away from pressure points
- Trim attachment strength for small components
- Enclosed foot versus open cuff for newborn sizes
- Print placement relative to the change opening
- Care instructions matched to the actual fabric
