Seven ways to put artwork on a canopy, and the reasons to pick each one
Why This Decision Matters
Choosing a printing method is the decision that most often gets made by default and then causes the reprint. A solid two-colour crest and a photographic gradient do not belong on the same process, and a canopy is not a flat sheet. These are the seven methods available on Levoo canopies and what each is actually for.
The Seven Methods We Run
Silk-screen printing
Solid spot colours laid down panel by panel. The workhorse for logos in one to three colours and the most economical at volume.
Heat transfer printing
Artwork transferred under heat, which handles finer detail and more colours than screen printing without moving to full digital.
Digital printing
Full coverage printing across the panels for photographic images, gradients and patterns that screen printing cannot hold.
Foam printing
A raised print with physical texture, used when the logo needs to be felt as well as seen.
Hot stamping
Metallic foil applied under heat for a bright metallic mark on a solid canopy.
Silver stamping
A silver foil finish, typically used on darker canopies where ink alone looks flat.
Embroidery
Stitched branding, normally used on sleeves, straps and handles rather than across the canopy itself.
How We Pick One With You
- Count the colours. One to three solid colours and a volume run points to silk-screen.
- Look for gradients or photography. If either is present, digital printing is the only method that holds it.
- Check the canopy colour. Dark canopies usually need hot stamping or silver stamping for a metallic effect to read.
- Check the artwork against the panel. Anything crossing a seam is repositioned before production, not after.

You send vector artwork where possible, with colour references.
Panel layout
Artwork is placed panel by panel with bleed at every seam.
Method confirmation
We confirm the method and flag any element that will not reproduce at canopy scale.
Sample
A printed sample is approved before bulk fabric is cut.
Production print
The run is printed against the approved sample and checked panel by panel.

Logo Printing Methods Questions
Which method gives the sharpest small text?
Heat transfer and digital printing hold fine detail better than silk-screen. Very small text on a canopy is a problem for every method, so we will tell you the minimum size that will survive.
Can we print edge to edge across the whole canopy?
Yes, with digital printing. That is what the Colour Shaft Auto Open and City models are specified for.
Is embroidery available on the canopy?
Embroidery is used on sleeves, straps and handle areas. Stitching through a canopy panel compromises the fabric, so we do not embroider canopies.
Do you charge a screen or setup fee?
Setup costs depend on the method and the number of colours and are quoted with the order rather than published.
