A microfibre cloth does not wipe a lens so much as lift particles into the gaps between fibres and carry them away. That is why a tissue or a shirt hem damages an anti-reflective coating: it drags the grit across the surface instead of lifting it.

Standard microfibre suits everyday lenses. Micro suede has a denser, finer nap and is what we specify where the lens carries a premium anti-reflective or mirror coating. The difference is visible in hand and worth the small cost step on premium frames.

Size It To The Lens

15 x 15 cm handles optical lenses comfortably. Wide sunglass lenses want 18 x 15 cm so the lens can be cleaned in one pass without re-folding, which is where fingerprints get reintroduced. A 15 cm round format is available where the shape is part of the branding.

Print Durability Is A Specification Not A Hope

A printed cloth that fades in a month damages the brand it was meant to promote. Print method is matched to how the cloth will be used, and adhesion is tested on wash cycles during sampling. Tell us whether the cloth will be washed regularly and we specify accordingly.

Care Instructions Worth Printing On The Sleeve

Wash without fabric softener, which coats the fibres and destroys the lifting action. Rinse loose grit off the lens before wiping. Replace the cloth once the nap flattens. Putting this on the sleeve costs nothing and reduces complaints about lens scratching.
