Background And Requirement
HOWCOOL built this 5,000 m² biopharmaceutical cold chain logistics center in Shanghai for a specialist pharmaceutical cold-chain operator. The client is a professional provider of comprehensive pharmaceutical cold-chain solutions, serving clinical supply chains, new-drug R&D, life sciences, in-vitro diagnostics and biomedicine, and focused on global door-to-door pharmaceutical supply-chain services.
The center complies with GSP and FDA regulations and meets the acceptance requirements of international customers. It is divided into multiple functional zones covering four temperature bands — 10–15℃, 2–8℃, -18 to -25℃ and -30 to -35℃ — with humidity held between 35% and 75% to suit different classes of drugs, vaccines and biological samples.
Internal logistics use AGV (automated guided vehicle) robotic transport, and every temperature and humidity parameter is monitored in real time, 24 hours a day, through a whole-process temperature-monitoring system — giving full traceability and audit-ready records for regulated pharmaceutical storage.
Acting as general contractor, HOWCOOL completed the entire project within 80 days, from civil interface to commissioning and handover, and it now operates as a pharmaceutical cold chain logistics center serving the Shanghai region.
