Custom Sculpture Development
Every piece we ship starts as somebody else's drawing. This is the four stage route from the file you send us to a finished sculpture, and what each side has to sign off before the next stage starts.
What Happens and Why It Matters
Drawing Confirmation
The problem. Verbal briefs and mood boards leave the shape, the size and the material open, and that is where disputes start.
How we handle it. You issue the conceptual or effect drawing with specifications dimensions and materials. Both sides confirm it, the drawing is archived, and production follows that archived file rather than anybody's memory of the conversation.
Model Making
The problem. A curved reflective form reads completely differently in metal than it does in a rendering, and by the time the full piece is welded it is too late to change it.
How we handle it. We make a model first so you can judge the shape and the appearance and ask for modifications while changes are still cheap.
Sculpture Production
The problem. Large sculptures drift away from the approved form once several people are cutting welding and grinding on them.
How we handle it. The final prototype fixes the shape and the work in progress is repeatedly compared against that model through cutting forming welding and grinding.
Surface Treatment
The problem. Colour is the last thing decided and the first thing the client notices, so leaving it to the workshop is a risk.
How we handle it. You either take the raw colour of the material or specify the colour, and we build the finish to that requirement using one of our six surface treatments.

What do you need from me to start
A conceptual or effect drawing, or even a photograph, plus the specifications dimensions and materials you want. We confirm and archive it before anything is cut.
Can you work from a photo instead of a drawing
Yes. We make sculptures following customers' pictures, designs and sizes.
Do I see anything before the full piece is made
Yes. A model is made first so you can confirm the shape and appearance and propose modifications.
Can I change the design after the drawing is confirmed
Changes are easiest at the model stage. Once the drawing is archived and production has started, changes mean reworking the piece.
Who chooses the material grade
Tell us the site and the exposure and we will confirm 304 or 316 with you before the drawing is archived.
