A fireplace set developed for European customers in a strong European decorative style

Client Background

The Starting Point

A European interior customer needed a decorated fireplace surround in a style that matched a period room rather than a modern tile catalogue.

Project Challenge

The opening dimensions did not match any stock tile module, and the customer wanted the decoration removable if the property changed hands.

Customer Pain Points

  • Stock tile had to be cut on site, showing raw edges
  • Wet fixed tile could not be removed later
  • Printed decorative tile wore where the surround was cleaned of soot

Our Solution

What We Changed

  • Panel layout planned from the opening dimensions supplied by the customer
  • Motif drawn in the European decorative style with a raised clay outline
  • Hooks fitted to the back so the set hangs rather than being bedded in
  • Sample fired and approved before the full set was produced

Manufacturing Process

Design drawing, clay line raising, glaze filling colour by colour, high temperature firing, then assembly check of the complete set before packing.

Quality Control

Dimensional check against the opening sizes, glaze coverage check at the edges, and a full set assembly check after firing.

Supply Chain Coordination

Packing was agreed before production, then pieces were protected in foam inside cardboard cartons and shipped by the freight mode chosen for the order: sea, air, door to door or express.

Final Result

What Was Delivered

A fireplace surround made to the opening, installed without wet fixing and cleanable without damaging the decoration.
