The cage is the part of a pole or pile that a buyer never sees and an engineer never stops thinking about. Material shape, diameter and cut length decide how smoothly the welding station runs.
Deformed steel rebar is supplied in coil for 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm, in straight length from 6 mm to 50 mm, and in U shape across the same range. Coil suits the spiral work, straight length suits the main bars.
Standard lengths are 6 m and 12 m, and bar can be cut to the length a customer specifies. Ordering to the jig length avoids a cutting operation inside the plant and the offcuts that come with it.
A cage welding machine welds the steel bar with the rings automatically. It is highly effective, holds standard quality and needs minimum labour, and it is widely used for making steel cages for concrete poles and piles.
