Fitting Out A Pool Hall In 6 Steps
Start from the table standard
Equipment bought before the table standard is confirmed is equipment bought twice.
American pool, snooker and Russian pyramid tables take different ball diameters. The ball family publishes each one, and the table decides it.
Fix one house tip diameter
Mixed tip sizes across a rack make every re-tipping session a sorting exercise.
Choose one diameter that matches the ferrules on your house cues and order tips by the fifty against that number.
Separate break cues from playing cues
Players break with whatever is in their hand, and house cues pay for it.
One jump and break cue held per table takes the hardest shot in the room off the playing cues.
Scale the consumables to table hours
Chalk and tips run out mid-season and get replaced with whatever is available locally.
Chalk is published in box quantities from single pieces to 100-piece sets, so the order can be scaled rather than guessed.
Hold spares from day one
A lost cue ball takes a table out of service.
Cue balls are published individually as well as in sets, which is what makes a spare per table practical.
Approve a sample, then order the room
A full fit-out is a poor place to discover the cues play badly.
A sample order goes first, the room approves the feel, and the fit-out is placed against the approved item.
