Specifying OEM Billiard Equipment So The Sample And The Container Match
Private label work fails in predictable places: artwork agreed in a chat thread, colours judged on a screen, and a production run nobody compared with the sample. Here is the sequence that avoids it.
Decide what carries the brand before pricing anything
Not every item has a printable surface worth using. Cases and chalk boxes print well, cartons always do, and chalk itself can be produced in custom colours and shapes. Starting from what can physically carry a mark is faster than starting from a wish list and working backwards.
Send vector artwork with the position marked
A logo sent as a low-resolution image and described as on the side of the case is how a print ends up in the wrong place at the wrong size. Vector artwork with the intended position and dimension marked removes the interpretation step entirely.
Judge colour on a physical sample, never on a screen
Screens are not colour references. Where a brand colour matters, a physical sample is the only meaningful approval, and it should be kept after approval so the production run can be compared with it rather than with a memory.
Use the sample stage the source actually offers
The FAQ on the source site states that samples are offered before an order and that sample orders are welcome. That stage is the entire defence against a container of branded goods that cannot be sold, and skipping it to save a week is the most expensive week in the process.
Write the packing spec down
Retail packing, inner boxes, carton quantity and carton markings are part of the product for a branded line, not an afterthought. A seller who has to repack a container before it can go on a shelf has lost the margin the OEM route was supposed to create.
Keep the approved sample as the reference for reorders
The reorder is where private label quietly drifts. Quoting against the same product page and the retained sample is what keeps the second container the same as the first, and it is a reasonable thing to state in writing on the purchase order.
