The Challenge

A brand owner wants chalk that is recognisably theirs on a shelf and in a pool hall, without a launch quantity that ties up their capital.

Customer Pain Points

  • Screen-approved colours that arrive looking different
  • Logos placed by description rather than by marked artwork
  • Bulk-packed goods that cannot go straight onto a retail shelf
  • A launch quantity too large to risk on an unproven brand
  • A second production run that quietly differs from the first

What Was Specified

Choose the chalk grade and shape from the published range first, then the custom colour, then the box quantity that matches the sales channel: individually wrapped singles for retail, 9 or 12-piece boxes for counters, 72 or 100-piece sets for rooms. Artwork goes as vector with the position marked, a physical sample is approved, and the production run is matched against the retained sample.

The Result

A branded consumable that can be reordered identically, with packing built for the channel it is actually sold through.

No brand, order value or launch quantity is claimed. What is described is the published capability: custom chalk colours and shapes, OEM logo printing on boxes and packing, and samples before the order.

Sequence

The Order The Decisions Get Made In

Pick the grade and the shape

Brands often choose a shape before they choose how the chalk plays.

Grade first, from the published 8A, 18A, 22A and S10 lines, then shape: square, round, hexagonal, butterfly or cross.

Fix the colour physically

Screens are not colour references.

A custom colour is approved on a physical sample and the sample is retained as the production reference.

Mark up the artwork

Verbal placement instructions get interpreted.

Vector artwork with the position and dimension marked on the box surface.

Match packing to the channel

Retail goods packed for bulk cannot be sold on arrival.

Box quantity chosen from the published range to suit retail, counter or room consumption.

Approve, then produce

A branded container is an expensive first physical test.

Sample approved before production, full QC before shipment, and refund or replacement on quality faults.
