Absolute Black Granite Shanxi Black Granite Oval Bathtubs is a freestanding soaking tub cut from a single block of China black. Granite is a dense even grained stone. It resists staining and weather better than most bathroom materials which is why it is the usual choice for outdoor and high traffic installations.

Shanxi black granite stone bath tub with very fine grain has a metamorphic origin with a schistose and siliceous nature. The bowl is hollowed and polished by hand and the outer face is finished to the look you choose so the same model can read as a soft matt sculpture or as a polished mirror of the stone.

Manufacturing process

1. Block selection at the quarry or the yard and photography of the face for your approval
2. Cutting the block to the outside dimensions of the tub
3. Coring and hollowing the bowl
4. Shaping the rim the base and the outer profile
5. Grinding and wet polishing through the grit sequence
6. Water testing and drain fitting check
7. Packing in foam film and a fumigated crate

Use and care guide

Rinse and dry after use. Granite tolerates normal bathroom cleaners better than marble but sealing still helps.

• Rinse and wipe the bowl after bathing so nothing dries on the surface
• Use mild neutral detergent and a soft cloth
• Keep acidic citrus and descaling products away from the stone
• Reseal on the schedule your installer recommends for this stone
• Use a soft brush for textured outer faces
