How To Select An AC Contactor For A Control Circuit
A contactor is chosen for the duty it will be switched at, not for the peak it can survive once.

What A Contactor Actually Does
A contactor uses coil current to generate a magnetic field and close its contacts, so a small control signal can switch a large load. AC contactors are used in power, distribution and power applications, and because the main circuit can be switched off quickly and high current circuits connected frequently, they are the standard control element for motors as well as for plant equipment, electric heaters, machine tools and other power units.
Read The Ratings Together Not Separately
The AC contactor listed in this range is a 3 pole unit available for 1, 2, 3 and 4 phase configurations, with a main circuit rated voltage of 220/230 V, 380/400 V and 660/690 V, a main circuit rated current of 9 A and a rated frequency of 50/60 Hz. Voltage and current have to be read as a pair against your circuit: a unit correct on voltage and short on current will chatter and weld, and one correct on current at the wrong voltage will not pull in reliably.
Frequency Of Operation Matters More Than Peak Load
Contactors are described as suitable for frequent operation and long-distance control, and that is the property to select on. A load switched a handful of times a day and a load switched every few minutes wear a contactor completely differently. If the application cycles hard, size on the switching duty rather than on the nameplate current of the load.
Low Voltage Release Is A Protection Feature
Beyond connecting and cutting the circuit, a contactor provides low voltage release protection: if the supply collapses, the coil drops out and the load does not restart on its own when power returns. On motor circuits that is a safety function, not a convenience, and it is one of the reasons a contactor is specified where a switch would be cheaper.
Standards Quoted On This Unit
The listed contactor states conformity to IEC60947-4-1 and ISO9001. Quote those to your own customers as written rather than expanding them into broader claims, and if your market requires certification documents for import, ask for what is available in writing before ordering.

Panel Building And Industrial Control
Panel builders buy the parts that go inside the enclosure as much as the enclosure itself. Busbars, terminals and contactors decide whether a panel passes inspection and stays tight in service.
Specification And Selection Support
Half the questions we get before an order are not commercial, they are technical: which tape, which way count, which busbar pitch. Getting that right before the order is cheaper than getting it right after.
